The Self-Medication Manufacturers Association of South Africa ( SMASA ) was formed in 1999 and represents the interests of the manufactures of non-prescription medicines.  It further serves to  promote self-medication to the public and to protect its members interests.  SMASA supports the understanding and development of responsible self-medication.
